About Emilie

Writing Life:

Emilie began her writing career in 2006 when she was one of the winners of The Guardian’s short story competition. Emilie's winning entry 'Family Portrait' was published in the anthology ‘The Perfect Lie.’ In the same year she published her first poetry called ‘One Look,’ with Chatterbox Magazine Productions with the profit from the first fifty copies going to the charity ‘Action On Addiction.’ Emilie has featured several times on BBC radio to discuss these books and other topical issues. In 2010 she was the winner of Coventry University’s annual poetry competition and local talent contest ‘The Festivals Got Talent’ where she performed a piece of slam poetry; both winning poems feature in her latest book 'Sitting By The Pier'. Many more of Emilie's poems and short stories have been published in local magazines and newspapers. Her writing often focuses on emotions, faith and moral issues.
